An 18-year-old member of the New People’s Army was captured by the members of the Philippine Army’s 503rd Infantry Brigade on Tuesday.

Reports said the comrades of suspect “Ka Cindy” left her behind when their group was chased by the military in their conduct of a hot pursuit operation.

The military endorsed her to the provincial social welfare and development in Ifugao that later helped reunite her with her family.

Ka Cindy also encouraged her former comrades to lay down their arms and surrender.

“I am calling on the remaining members of NPA to go down and surrender now. The government is ready to help us through Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program,” she said.

Ka Cindy will be enrolled in the program and is expected to receive assistance from the government that would help her return to normal civilian life.
