6 NPA members in Cagayan Valley surrendered to authorities

Six (6) members of the CPP NPA Terrorist (CNT) operating in Cagayan Valley return to the fold of the law last October 28, 2018.

PRO2 Regional Director, PCSUPT JOSE MARIO M ESPINO said that about 12:00 in the afternoon of same sate. Alias JM and alias Lito, both of legal age and both residents of Brgy. Cabaruan, Madella, Quirino voluntarily surrendered with their firearms one (1) M16 armalite bearing Serail Number RP 241044, 6 pcs long magazines for cal.45 with 13 ammo for cal.45. The surrendered duo was made through the negotiations of Staff Sgt Francie Alameda (Inf) PA assigned at the 502Bde and PO3 Federico Tulay of San Manuel Police Station, Isabela PPO. The rebel returnees were brought to 502nd Headquarters, Sotung, Echague, Isabela for proper disposition.

Likewise on same date, four (4) members of New People’s Army in Cagayan province namely alias “joseph”, 12 years old, alias “josh”, 15 years old, alias “berto” and alias “belong”, 16 years old all minors also surrendered to Piat Police Station, Piat, Cagayan. Said individuals revealed that they are members of the New People’s Army and were trained to carry and use short and long firearms somewhere in Marag, Valley. They also revealed that they were recruit by Ka Querubin, Ka Berto also revealed that his father was also trained in Marag Valley as member of the NPA.

“Said individuals voluntarily surrendered to the PNP and AFP personnel after a successful dialogue with them under the Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) in the said municipality, “ RD ESPINO said.

The Regional Director expressed appreciation to the elements of the PNP and AFP for their efforts in conducting dialogue with the said rebel returnees.

RD ESPINO urges other communist rebels in Cagayan Valley to surrender and lay down their arms to the authorities and enjoy a peaceful life with their love ones. “I would like to reiterate the call of our President that he wanted peace in the country and he is willing to offer livelihoods and houses to members of the new people’s army who will submit themselves to authorities for them to start a new life,” He added.
