Around 900 individuals benefited from the community outreach program conducted by Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 on Wednesday morning (November 14) in Barangay San Marcos, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, a community inhabited mostly by the Manobo tribe.

PCSupt Gilberto DC Cruz, PRO13 Director, spearheaded the activity which was also attended by Mayor Edwin G. Elorde of Bunawan; Barangay Officials of San Marcos; and representatives from the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur.

Members of the Manobo tribe became recipients of free medical and dental check-up, circumcision, tooth extraction, haircut, distribution of food packs, school supplies and slippers, and mass feeding.

The Mascots also entertained the residents.

“We are here to make the IPs feel that the government is working for them and that the uniformed personnel are their friends and partners for peace,” RD Cruz said.

This is the 7th community outreach program since the assumption to office of RD Cruz. Most of the recipient communities were situated in far-flung areas seldom reached by the government services.
