NPA leader arrested in Laguna

LAGUNA – Antonia Tonog SETIAS-DIZON aka TONET, National Organizing Department Secretary, CPP-NPA-NDF was arrested at Villa Olympia Subdivision, San Pedro Laguna on 17 September 2019 by virtue of a warrant of arrest for a crime of murder with case number 5965 issued by Acting Executive Judge Lou Nueva of RTC Br7 of Bayugan Cuty, Agusan Del Sur.

Recovered during the operations are the following: one (1) Tanfoglio Cal. 380 pistol, one (1) magazine with seven (7) live ammunition, 48 pieces of live ammunition for Cal. 380, Two (2) Blasting Caps with wirings, 10 pieces Blasting Caps, two (2) mobile phones, two (2) pieces hard disk drives, one (1) USB flash drive, one (1) CPP/NPA flag, one (1) green Cap with CPP logo and several subversive materials.

LTGEN GILBERT I GAPAY lauded this accomplishment of the Joint AFP-PNP forces who served the warrant of arrest for their painstaking efforts and dedication to service.

This is a big blow to the CPP NPA NDF as DIZON is a top cadre of the organization being the secretary of their Organizing Department. Previous secretaries of the organizing department who were also arrested for similar cases are Rafael Baylosis and Edilberto Silva.

The CPP NPA NDF is losing members, both at national and local levels. Last week, 65 CPP-NPA members returned to the fold of law and availed of the E-CLIP at Bicol. More than six hundred, both regular armed group and Milisyang Bayan had surrendered this year at Southern Luzon.

The good harmony of efforts between government agencies and other concerned groups through the NTF ELCAC is resulting to better services to address the local needs of the people. This resulted to a better awareness and realization that the CPP NPA NDF is no longer a significant organization and that these communists had became a hindrance to progress.

SOLCOM commend the local populace who were cooperating and giving information that led to the arrest of more communist terrorists. The populace are also encouraged to continue participating in the ongoing campaign to end local communists armed conflicts, especially on our efforts to address local problems and issues that affect our constituents.

The suspect TONET is now under the custody of the San Pedro City Police Office for proper disposition.
