The Philippine National Police (PNP is expected to receive 14,000 ballistic or bullet-proof helmets which part of their ten (10) year Modernization Program.
The said helmets, together with Protective Eyewear, is manufactured by Ceradyn Inc, owned and operated by 3M corporation, a multi-national company.
PNP Chief Police Director General Oscar Albayalde personally received the “Commemorative Helmet and Eyewear” from officials of Ceradyn, 3M Philippines and its local partner Armscorp Shooting Center.
The commemorative token is the symbol of the first batch of Combat II ballistic helmet L110 to be delivered to the PNP, which is “first of its kind”, in Asia.
The new helmet uses the latest technology approved by the United States military that gives extra protection for police personnel in the conduct of their operations.
Alongside this, PDG Albayalde announced that all new police personnel will undergo combat training similar to the training being undertaken by the Special Action Force. PNP PIO / MCAG
